Ludacris Car Collection: A Look At The Fast And Furious Star’s Personal Garage
With an estimated net worth of around $30 million, we take a look at some of the cars in the hugely successful hip hop artist’s personal collection.
Among the most famous celebrities world-wide, Ludacris originally rose to stardom with his eccentric music and outrageous video pairing throughout the 2000s. Hits like ‘Act a Fool’ and ‘Stand Up’ – the latter of which features a lifetime’s supply of fried chicken pieces and beer – played a part in him winning three Grammy Awards, and continue to be enjoyed to this day.
Alongside his music, Ludacris is also known for acting, most famously adopting the role of Tej Parker in the Fast and Furious film franchise. All this success has led to a net worth of around $30 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth, and given that he’s a proper gearhead, it’s only natural that a big chunk of his earnings have gone towards building his dream car garage. Here are a few of our favorites.
9. Acura Legend
Luda’s love story with the humble second-generation Acura Legend began way before he became a renowned celebrity, having taken ownership of one as his first-ever car at some point in the early-mid 90s. It also continues to be his daily runaround, which explains why it has clocked over 250,000 miles on the odometer.
Finished in silver, his Legend carries a 3.2-liter V6 block that’s paired with a five-speed manual shifter, producing 200-hp and 210 pounds of torque. It was also involved in an accident in 2015, after which it was meticulously restored by the Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles over a two-month period. It had its suspension lowered by two inches and received bigger brakes, 18-inch Rays alloys and a Pioneer sound system. Result!
8. Acura NSX
The tactile NSX is one of the most well-rounded supercars money can buy right now, with it being powered by a supremely intelligent 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid engine. A nine-speed dual-clutch is the automatic gearbox of choice, with the result of 573-hp and roughly 476 pounds of torque requiring no explanation as to why Ludacris would want one.
His example is also finished in white – something you’ll come to realize is a familiar theme with Ludacris’ car collection. The second-generation NSX will also be retired at the end of 2023 with the facelifted Type-S model, having returned underwhelming sales figures since its introduction in 2016. That’s a shame, because we think the NSX is a brilliant machine.
7. BMW 7-Series
Ludacris also has a BMW 7-Series to add a bit of convenience to his all-star line-up, similar to those seen on the Kelley Blue Book website. It’s also the only luxury sedan he has, and there are far worse choices he could’ve gone for. While it isn’t known exactly which trim level he has or the upgrades he may have done to it, we do know it’s an F01 era model. It debuted in 2009 as the fifth-generation of the historic lineage.
It also came with a huge variety of specifications. It’s the only 7-Series ever to be offered with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, while engine choices range from an inline-six petrol block to a hybrid unit, and even a V12-powered version. The most recent M760i is also the last BMW ever to have 12 cylinders, taking on a substantial legacy in the process.
6. Ferrari 458 Italia
The 458 is one of Ferrari’s greatest hits, and comfortably deserves a place among the prancing horse firm’s biggest legends like the Enzo and the F40. So, it’s fitting that a man of Luda’s standing owns one. His 458 is also one of the few cars he owns that isn’t painted white, with Ludacris choosing a glossy blue shade to coat that timeless body.
Not only does it look achingly beautiful, but the main reason the 458 will go down in history is because of how good it is to drive. Near perfect steering response and the accuracy at which it darts its nose, paired with the show-stopping soundtrack from the naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V8, results in a dynamic package that rivals pretty much any other machine out there for raw driving pleasure.
5. Ford GT
Here’s a special something to get the gas flowing in your veins, Ludacris even owns a first-generation Ford GT which he is claimed to have purchased for $400,000. That’s a nifty investment, but also a profitable one, given that most of these rare, analogue supercars will fetch a much higher amount than that now. You can see proof of that with the listings currently up on the Kelly Blue Book website.
The first generation GT is a very special car, since it pays homage to one of the greatest racing cars of all time in the GT40. Its 5.4-liter supercharged Ford modular V8 churns out 550-hp and 500 pounds of torque, and given that they were made in such small volumes (just over 4,000), this is one blue collar hero that really can hold its own against a horde of exotica.
4. Lamborghini Huracán Spyder
Is any celebrity collection complete without a candidate from Lamborghini? The other Italian supercar in Luda’s collection is a Huracán Spyder – one of the world’s most popular supercars over the last few years. It’s also set to embrace retirement, with an all-new replacement set for 2024, but the Huracán won’t go quietly.
It has spawned a number of variants, with the swansong Huracán Tecnica frequently drawing high praise from road testers and professional drivers alike. Lamborghini’s have always been about flair and explosive character, and the Huracán’s naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 epitomizes that with 602-hp at its disposal via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. A flamboyant car for a flamboyant celeb.
3. Mercedes-AMG G63
There’s a slightly romantic spin to this one. Ludacris purchased an AMG G63 back in 2016 as a gift for his wife, Eudoxie. While he and the crew were on the set of Fast and Furious 8, he called her to the filming location to officially surprise her with this wonderfully expensive gift, which even had a golden bow on it. Who said chivalry was dead?
In typical Ludacris manner, the mid-size SUV is painted in white and features a number of black and chrome details along the exterior. No further upgrades are known to have been made, but the 563-hp 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 should provide Mrs Ludacris with more than enough excitement when the mood does take her there, and even features three locking differential modes.
2. Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600
Ludacris seems to have quite an affirmation for his Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, displaying a seal of approval upon making it Instagram official in a video where he is seen trying out its air suspension. And there are no surprises here, given that the GLS 600 is one of the most luxurious SUVs ever made, and justifiably coming in at a starting price of over $200,000.
As with most cars on this list, details are scarce, but we do know that it contains Nappa leather massage seats, a duo of 12.3-inch infotainment screens and a 3D surround sound system from Burmester. He also managed to land his GLS 600 before it arrived in dealerships, with the 45-year-old enjoying the fruits of a car that was custom-built for him.
1. Rolls-Royce Dawn
Drawing this list to a close is another common manufacturer and model found lingering in celebrity collections: The Rolls-Royce Dawn. Ludacris took ownership of a white-colored example in 2019, and no doubt enjoys the supreme comfort and uncompromising luxury that comes with owning practically any model from the Rolls-Royce range.
Power comes from a lumpy 6.6-liter V12 that sprints from 0-60mph in a reasonably quick 4.9 seconds. But more importantly, the Dawn comes with a myriad of opulent materials inside, including open-pore wood to line some of the surfaces. Though, such extravagances are expected, given the starting price point for one of these floats at just over $350,000.
