Valtteri Bottas Takes Delivery Of His Long-Awaited Mercedes-AMG One
Valtteri Bottas picked up to the keys of his new Mercedes-AMG One in Affalterbach, Germany
Alfa Romeo Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas has just taken delivery of his own Mercedes-AMG One with a unique paint scheme.
The popular driver placed his order for the F1-powered hybrid hypercar while he was still racing for the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team alongside Lewis Hamilton. While he is now competing in the mid-field rather than for race victories, he’ll be able to relive his time racing for Mercedes with the F1-powered hypercar.
Bottas headed to the Mercedes-Benz headquarters in Affalterbach, Germany to pick up the keys to the car. It has been adorned in a spectacular shade of blue which isn’t just rare for the AMG One but is also rare for any Mercedes-Benz model. A plethora of naked carbon fiber components are also visible across the exterior, including a large section of the hood, shrouds around the front air intakes, the front splitter, side skirts, the wheels, and much of the rear end, including the diffuser.
Mercedes started customer deliveries of the car back in January, just a couple of months after it set a new production car lap record around the Nurburgring before also setting records at the Nurburgring GP circuit, Red Bull Ring, and the Hockenheimring.
The launch of the hypercar was delayed on multiple occasions due to development difficulties but after firing up the engine for the first time, we’re sure Bottas forgot about the long wait he endured. After all, the car is powered by a modified version of the 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 that his Mercedes F1 car had, although it is now supplemented by four electric motors and is able to deliver as much as 1,049 hp when driven in ‘Race Plus’ mode.
