INKAS-Built Toyota Land Cruiser 250 Series Promises B6 Protection

While not the best platform for armoring, the 250-series Land Cruiser is available with B6-level protection. Enter the Land Cruiser 250 from INKAS, a Toronto-based company that specializes in all things armored vehicles.
Advertised by INKAS with seating for up to seven despite Toyota’s refusal to sell the Prado with three rows in this part of the world, the armored sport utility vehicle protects all occupants from blasts and ballistic fire in a number of ways, beginning with 360-degree perimeter protection and military-grade ballistic glass. Of course, the door overhang edges are bulletproof as well.
Separating the cabin and cargo areas, the armored bulkhead is designed to enable full use of the trunk. Armoring continues with the fuel tank, whereas the wheels and tires benefit from a military-grade run-flat system with solid polycarbonate inserts.
The passenger cell is armored to CEN standards. According to INKAS, the B6-level 250 series can take 7.62-mm assault rifle bullets and two DM51 hand grenades. Capable of withstanding high-impact situations, the armored SUV targets high-profile individuals, corporate security customers, law enforcement agencies, and government officials.
Reinforced hinges and suspension also need to be mentioned, along with battery and engine control module protection. As for optional extras, the list kicks off with engine bay armoring and fire suppression. Radiator and exhaust system protection are optional as well, along with the optional roof escape hatch.

Tactical upgrades include a variety of strobe lights, a siren and PA system for shouting at plebs in their bone-stock Land Cruisers, a night vision camera, GPS tracking, and CCTV with 360-degree view. Options continue with vehicle enhancements such as reinforced bumpers, heavy-duty wheels, and a blackout pack.
That’s not all, though, because INKAS can further equip the smaller brother of the V6-only 300 series with an oxygen filtration system, a door-assist mechanism, and additional operable windows. By default, only the driver-side window is operable. Although INKAS maintains a ready-to-purchase inventory of armored vehicles, they can also armor client-owned vehicles.
Unfortunately for prospective customers, the Canadian firm didn’t release any pricing information for the B6-grade 250 series. The big question is, would you add so much weight to an already heavy body-on-frame SUV powered by a hybridized four-cylinder turbo?
The combined rating of said powertrain is 326 horses and 465 pound-feet (630 Newton-meters), with most of them reaching the wheels by means of an eight-speed automatic transmission. If those numbers seem a tiny bit familiar, that’s because the four-cylinder turbo hybrid i-FORCE MAX powertrain is available in the three-row 4RUNNER and the Tacoma mid-size pickup.
Toyota claims an EPA-rated 23 miles to the gallon (10.2 liters per 100 kilometers) on the combined test cycle for the 2025 Land Cruiser. As of this writing, the Land Cruiser for the US market starts at 56,700 dollars. The destination charge adds $1,450 to the final price.
