While it may not be as well known as his acting credentials, Robert Downey Jr. is actually a true gearhead with a serious love for everything from classics and luxury cars to electric vehicles and supercars. When he’s not busy getting his sweet rides customized or modified, he is usually seen by paparazzi driving around town in a different vehicle each time from his vast collection.
RDJ played our favorite Avenger for well over a decade in his career, and while his superpowers may have been limited to the big screen, we’re glad it still gave him the ability to get any car he wants with the snap of his fingers. That said, let’s take a tour of Iron Man’s garage and see all the dream cars he’s amassed over his career.
10. Mercedes-Benz Pagoda
Plenty of folks are more interested in the latest Mercs but not RDJ, as he’s among those who believe in buying and preserving the older Merc models. His Mercedes-Benz Pagoda is the perfect example of his exquisite taste in classics. It looks like a completely restored vintage model.

The R8 is among several Audis owned by our favorite Marvel superhero. This one in particular was gifted to him by the original creators of Iron Man after Tony Stark used an Audi R8 for the first time in 2008. We all know that the Audi R8 is nothing short of a supercar.

8. 1965 Chevy Corvette Convertible
Downey Jr. has a sweet ‘65 Corvette Convertible, but not much is known about this one as he prefers not showing it off to the press. In fact, some outlets have even reported that it’s a ‘67 model. We believe otherwise, since this Corvette clearly has three vents on its front fenders, and it doesn’t have a “Corvette” emblem either on the bottom right area of its hood.

It could also be a ‘66 model, but we’ll leave the rest of the guesswork up to the readers. The only thing we do know is that Robert Downey Jr. prefers his Corvette over his R8. The car is clearly one of his personal favorites since he keeps it to himself, and the few glimpses we’ve seen of it prove that it’s absolutely exquisite.
7. Audi E-Tron GT Concept
Audi has often used big-budget movies to showcase their future models and the E-Tron GT was no different. The car was first seen driven by Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame. RDJ also made his entrance to the premiere of the movie in the same car.

The Nissan GT-R, also dubbed “Godzilla,” is another sports car in Robert Downey Jr’s collection. The vehicle has pure unadulterated power and is one of the top-performing cars in the world. For most gearheads, the Nissan GT-R is a forever icon, so it’s no surprise that a man of Tony Stark’s stature owns one of these.

While there may be plenty of Mustangs around in the world, RDJ’s 1970 Mustang 302 Boss is one-of-a-kind. The actor commissioned its restomod through SpeedKore, and the car made its debut at the 2017 SEMA exhibit. Without a doubt, this Mustang is among the sickest cars in Robert Downey Jr’s collection.

The car got a new beating heart courtesy of Ford Performance, while it was also given carbon-fiber parts to go with the upgraded engine. When it comes to power, this Mustang is equipped with a Ford Performance Aluminator 5.0-liter V8 which also has a Stage 2 Ford Performance supercharger.
4. Ferrari California T
Let’s face it: no car collection is complete without a Ferrari. Downey Jr. as a car aficionado is well aware of this. The grand touring high-performance convertible has been seen plenty of times on the Hollywood A-lister’s social media and it stands out from the rest of his collection with an exotic blue finish.

Ferrari downsized the previous gen’s engine from a 4.3-liter to a 3.9-liter for the California T. However, there was no notable drop in performance. The Ferrari California T is equipped with a turbocharged V8 which gives it a top speed of 193 mph along with a 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds. Specs like these are perfect for a real-life Billionaire playboy!
3. Bentley Continental GT
Robert Downey Jr. got the Bentley Continental GT in exchange for his stellar performance in Iron Man 3. The car now rightfully belongs in his garage and looks beautiful with a matte green finish. As far as we know, the Continental GT is the most luxurious grand tourer in his collection.

This is one of those rare and mythical vehicles that you won’t get to see much. Out of all the cars in Robert Downey Jr’s garage, it is among the lesser-known ones. The Fisker Karma was launched as one of the first hybrid luxury vehicles running on clean fuel.

The Fisker Karma’s production run was plagued with numerous issues. Ultimately, the car had to be killed off. Only 2,400 of these vehicles were ever produced, so it’s definitely one of the rarest cars in RDJ’s collection. He’s not seen using this one as most of his other vehicles, however.
1. Acura NSX Concept
During the filming of Iron Man 3, a 1991 Acura NSX was modified and used on screen. The one-of-a-kind vehicle looked glorious in the movie and the real-life Tony Stark reportedly fell in love with it. Marvel obliged Downey Jr’s request to keep the car, and it went straight to his garage after filming.

The original Acura NSX on which this car has been built is pretty much completely replaced. The mod was carried out by Trans FX, during which they stripped the vehicle of all its body panels except for the doors. A whole new car was manufactured around it. The car is reportedly worth over $9M and remains one of the most special additions to RDJ’s car collection to date. It’s safe to say you won’t find a car like this one anywhere else.
