YouTuber enthusiastically buys a Ferrari 360 with 120,000 miles on the clock and is shocked to discover $110,000 in repair bills

Unlike most car collectors who pride themselves on just how low-mileage their supercars are, the owner of this well-used Ferrari 360 Modena in Germany bought this very car because it was high mileage. When this 360 was listed for sale with nearly 120,000 miles on it, the current owner just had to have it. While most people would shy away from such a high-mileage supercar, the fact that this Ferrari was used properly and had the service records to back it up was a plus point. The most eye-opening bill was for a complete engine replacement in 2008 at around 62,000 miles — over $53,000 for a new V8 engine from Ferrari!
Speaking to Hamid Mossadegh from Hamid Tailormade Cars, a popular German YouTube channel, the owner reveals that over $110,000 has been spent on this Ferrari to keep it on the road. The expenses include the aforementioned engine replacement, routine maintenance such as servicing and timing belt replacements, as well as an all-new gearbox and clutch set.

Ferrari introduced the F1 gearbox in 1999 with the 360 Modena. It’s a semi-automatic system derived from Formula 1 technology, but one that not many owners fell in love with.

Generally, manual-equipped 360 Modena models command far greater prices than their F1-equipped counterparts. Still, this owner keeps his high-mileage Ferrari running despite all odds.

The owner puts the value of his 360 Modena at around $80,000, considering it has a new engine, new gearbox, and other parts replaced over its lifetime. However, this black 360 Modena with yellow valve colors still has over 130,000 miles on the body. So while more than the car’s value has been spent on repairs, there’s still a good chance the repair bills will stack up. For the right buyer, that may be a small price to pay to hear the wail of a Ferrari V8.
