Currently available on Collecting Cars is a 1966 Ford Mustang that has been customized as a ‘Pro Touring’ example of the iconic muscle car, designed to excel in regular road use and high-speed track driving. Imported from California to Denmark 15 years ago, it started as a damage and rust-free C-code hardtop before being transformed into its present state. The car is reputed to offer the driving characteristics of a well-tuned road car coupled with the power and composure reminiscent of a race car, all encapsulated in the classic 1966 body.
This Pro Touring Mustang is clad in green metallic while featuring a black and cream vinyl-trimmed interior. is finished in a handsome shade of green metallic over a black and cream vinyl-trimmed interior, with embossed ‘pony’ specification seat inserts. It’s also been fitted with built-in subframe connectors, a Moser rear end, Wilwood rear brakes, coilover suspension, digital cabin instruments, a computerised fuel injection system and a four-point roll cage.
Power is sourced from a 331ci (5.4-litre) V8 that features FAST fuel injection, a Powerdyne supercharger, and water injection, and was rated to deliver 700hp to the rear wheels via a three-speed Lentech automatic transmission with overdrive.
